Playback from Nuendo 10.3 shows the same approximate level as from Resolve 16.2.7 on the meters. Thanks for any suggestions as to what might be causing the level discrepancy. The files are mono 192kHz 24 bit Aiffs, 12 channels in total. The other thing I noticed was that Resolve started glitching during playback (using an old machine to test) while Nuendo didn't seem to struggle at all. I really hate it when I get noticeably different playback results from the same files out the same I/O at the same settings, as it undermines my trust and makes me wonder which is right? I went over the entire signal path in both DAWs and didn't find anything obvious that could have been causing the difference, but will look some more in the morning. The other day I played back a clip posted here that was too hot and distorting, as I recall it sounded markedly different in Izotope Rx 7 compared to Resolve. This was both with tracks dragged in and no panning at all (everything dead mono) and after I had panned stuff around and added a little EQ. Both are using the same audio I/O, everything is set to unity. The first thing that I hear is that the Nuendo output is about 6dB hotter compared to Resolve. I've been testing out Fairlight for immersive audio work lately, comparing it to Nuendo which I'm reasonably familiar with.ĭragged in an Auro-3D session to try working on and delivering to Atmos, Auro, 5.1 and Stereo, just minimal tweaks and adjustments to the source tracks.ĭid the same in Nuendo (version 10.3) to compare.
